1. What we collect
When you press Release, we store:
- The text you enter (“content”)
- The tone and mood tags you choose
- A timestamp generated by the server
That’s it. We do not store your name, e-mail, account, IP address, user-agent string, or any other personal identifier.
2. Why we store it
We need the text, tone, and mood to display signals on the site and let others browse or filter by emotion. Nothing more.
3. How long we keep it
Signals remain until they are removed via the admin panel or as part of routine database maintenance. If you accidentally post something identifiable, use the Contact link in About or wait for an admin-initiated cleanup.
4. Cookies & tracking
Google Analytics: Signals uses Google Analytics (GA4) to measure site usage and understand traffic patterns. We’ve configured GA to anonymize IP addresses and only collect aggregated, non-personal metrics (page views, device/browser type, region). No user-specific or content-specific data is sent to Google Analytics.
No other analytics or trackers: We do not include any additional analytics scripts, third-party trackers, or marketing cookies.
Admin session cookie: A single, secure session cookie may be set only when an administrator logs into the password-protected panel. That cookie expires on logout or after a short inactivity period.
5. Third-party disclosure
We do not share, sell, or otherwise transfer your content to any third parties. Server logs may be retained by our hosting provider for security, but they are not tied to individual thoughts.
6. Security
The database sits behind standard firewalls, and admin access is password-protected. Still, remember that Signals is a creative experiment—not a HIPAA-compliant vault. Post only what you’re comfortable making public.
7. Your consent
By releasing a thought, you consent to the minimal data handling described above.
